SMS Privacy Policy

Phuong Nguyen for Valley Water District 6 (“the campaign,” “we,” or “us”) provides this policy to explain how we handle information collected through phuongford6.com, campaign forms, inquiries, and our recurring SMS messaging program.
1. Where this policy applies
This policy covers information you provide to our campaign online and when you sign up for or interact with campaign texts. Separate organizations, donation platforms, and other external websites have their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Our contact form collects your name, email, optional phone number, message, and choice about receiving texts. We record the submission date, the consent language presented, and its version. Event forms may also collect attendance and ZIP code information. When you interact with our messaging program, records may include enrollment, unsubscribe requests, replies, delivery information, and support requests. Hosting and communications providers may process technical information needed to operate their services.
3. How we use information
We use information to answer questions, coordinate campaign activities, manage event registrations, and maintain communication preferences. If you choose to receive texts, we may send the campaign updates, election and voter-engagement information, advocacy messages, volunteer and event notices, and fundraising requests described at signup. We also use records to document permission, prevent misuse, address technical problems, and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements.
4. Your permission to receive texts
SMS enrollment requires a separate, affirmative choice. Giving us a phone number on an event, donation, volunteer, or contact form does not by itself authorize recurring texts. Permission applies only to this campaign and the message categories described when you enroll; it does not authorize another candidate or organization to contact you.
We do not purchase, trade, rent, or sell SMS permission. A purchased list, voter file, public record, or another organization’s list is not a substitute for your direct opt-in.
We do not sell or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional use. SMS opt-in records and consent are not sold, rented, exchanged, or transferred to other campaigns or organizations.
Providers helping us deliver messages and maintain consent or unsubscribe records may process this information only on our behalf for those services, not for their independent marketing. The other disclosure provisions below do not permit sharing SMS information for marketing.
You can contact us or participate in campaign activities without agreeing to texts. Text frequency varies, with a maximum of eight messages per month. Carrier messaging and data charges may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Our website stores contact submissions, and an email service processes them to notify the campaign. Other providers may help with hosting, event administration, or donation processing. We do not sell personal information. Apart from the restricted processing described above, information may be disclosed when required by law or legal process, or as necessary to address fraud, security, or safety concerns.
6. Browser technologies
Hosting or linked services may use cookies or similar technologies for functionality and security. Your browser settings let you manage cookies and other site data. Blocking them may affect some features. External services’ policies describe their own practices.
7. Keeping records
We keep information for the period reasonably needed to respond to you, operate campaign activities, document consent and opt-outs, and satisfy applicable obligations. Some records may need to remain after a deletion request so that we can honor an unsubscribe or meet recordkeeping requirements.
8. Protecting information
We use safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access and misuse. Internet communications and storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not include passwords, payment-card details, or other sensitive information in a contact form or text message.
9. Your choices and requests
Reply STOP to end recurring campaign texts. You may also clearly request to unsubscribe by replying QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE, or by emailing the campaign. A non-promotional confirmation may follow your request. Reply HELP for support.
Contact phuong141@yahoo.com to correct your information, change preferences, or request access or deletion. We may need to confirm your identity, and applicable retention obligations or exceptions may limit a request. We will respect privacy rights that apply to you.
10. Children
The SMS program is intended for adults age 18 or older. If you believe a child has submitted information or enrolled improperly, email us so we can review the record and address it.
11. Links to other services
Links to donation processors and other websites take you to services operated separately from our campaign. Review their policies before providing information.
12. Policy updates
Revisions will appear here with an updated effective date. A revised policy does not by itself broaden your text-message consent. We will seek additional permission or provide additional notice when required for a change.
